Using Invisalign Golders Green is a convenient method of treating your teeth to a makeover, because it employs aligners that are worn over the teeth and may be removed for 2 to 4 hours a day. This means that you can have the flexibility to choose when to wear them and when you need a little break from them. What’s more, the aligners are barely visible when they are being worn - most people shouldn’t notice them. They are made of clear plastic, so only your teeth will be visible, encouraging you to feel confident about carrying on with your life, wearing your aligners with pride!
The workings of Invisalign
Invisalign Golders Green consists of aligners that apply gentle pressure to push the teeth into the correct position. This can take between just 9 to 18 months on average. You will need to change your aligners every 1 to 2 weeks and we will provide you with enough aligners to last you for about 6 weeks, after which you will then need to come and see us for a check-up. If you want to take your aligners out of your mouth at any point, you also have the flexibility to do this, because Invisalign is designed to be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day. This gives you plenty of time to take them out when you are eating food, so you won’t need to worry about cleaning your aligners afterwards and you won’t need to alter your diet to avoid damaging them. You will also be able to maintain your excellent oral hygiene, because you won’t need to have anything in your mouth that could impede your brushing efforts (and your flossing, of course!)
Do the aligners hurt?
The aligners should be extremely comfortable to wear, because they are made bespoke for your mouth. We use iTero technology to get the measurements of your mouth for your aligners to be made. This digital scan also allows us to create a 3D animation to show you what your teeth will look like after your treatment has been completed. It’s an aspect of your Invisalign journey which can prove truly motivating and it’s one that we think you’ll love - we certainly do! When you first put your new aligners on, it may take a little time to get used to them, but you shouldn’t feel any pain. The aligners should sit snugly on the gum line and we will ensure that they are going to be manufactured in the Invisalign laboratory to the correct measurements for your mouth to achieve this.
