Frequently asked questions about Invisalign
Here at The Garden Dental Practice, we understand how important it is for our patients to have a smile they are proud of and offer lots of choice when it comes to helping to achieve that. One of the most popular methods for getting a great smile is Invisalign Golders Green. Here, we explain what this method is and what it involves, as well as answering some of the most commonly asked questions about the treatment.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign Golders Green is a means of correcting teeth that are not as straight as the patient would like. They may be crooked, protruding or even overcrowded, and this can have a major impact on how a person feels about their appearance. The treatment is also referred to as clear or invisible braces.
The braces take the form of clear plastic trays that fit over the teeth, which help to move them into a better position over a period of months. These trays are also called aligners and are used as a gentle and very subtle means of straightening the teeth.
Is it possible to be too old for this treatment?
Many people have their teeth straightened in their youth, but not everyone gets that opportunity. Fortunately, Invisalign Golders Green can be a very successful treatment for patients of all ages. In fact, it is often chosen by people who are keen to get a great smile later in life because of the fact that these braces are completely invisible.
This means that people do not have to worry about feeling self-conscious regarding wearing braces, or fret about others asking questions about them having orthodontic treatment. If the patient wants to ensure that no one but they and the dentist knows they are having their teeth straightened, then clear braces are an excellent choice.
Can anyone get Invisalign?
Most people with misaligned teeth can get them straightened using invisible braces. However, there are some exceptions to this. The best way to find out whether you, as a patient, are a suitable candidate is to make an appointment with us. We assess every patient on an individual basis and if Invisalign is not something that is ideal, then we will be able to recommend an efficient alternative.
Do the braces hurt?
Clear aligners are one of the most comfortable ways to resolve misaligned teeth. This is because they are tailor made for each patient. We take impressions of the teeth so that the aligners can be created to match the teeth of the individual exactly. As well as making them more comfortable, this approach also means that the treatment is targeted to the teeth to deliver great results. The braces are made of very soft plastic that is easy to wear, and this also helps to ensure the comfort of the patient.
There may be a small amount of discomfort experienced at the beginning of treatment and when the aligners are changed. However, this is easily resolved using over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.
