What is cosmetic dentistry?

The Garden Dental Practice in Golders Green offers many cosmetic dentistry treatments which are popular with our patients.

Cosmetic dentistry is reference to any type of dental work/treatment which primarily aims to improve the appearance of either your teeth, gums or bite. It is carried out with the focus of dental aesthetics, for example the colour or shape of your teeth and also the overall appearance of your smile.

We offer many cosmetic dental treatments including porcelain veneers, white fillings, teeth whitening, reshaping and a smile makeover. Another dental treatment which is proving to be more and more popular, especially with our adult patients, is Invisalign. So if you are considering Invisalign in Golders Green you can rest assured that you will receive a high quality service at The Garden Dental Practice.

Invisalign in Golders Green

An advanced teeth straightening treatment, Invisalign uses align technology to unobtrusively transform your smile without the need for fixed braces. Invisalign is used by our dentists to treat issues such as overcrowded teeth, an underbite, cross bite, deep bite or widely spaced teeth.

What is the process?

At The Garden Dental Practice, if you are interested in Invisalign in Golders Green, you will firstly be taken through what we call our case assessment. One of our dentists will take a set of photos in order for us to decide whether Invisalign is indeed the best treatment for your issue. If we agree, we will take more photos of your teeth along with digital scans and X-rays. In some cases we may decide to take a dental impression of your teeth. After we have obtained this, we will get to work in creating a personalised digital treatment plan which will show you how your teeth will look once you have finished your Invisalign treatment. The finished results will be shown in a 3D video, which will show you in detail how we expect the treatment to work and your teeth to move during the process.

Once we have done this, your photos and scans will be sent away so that your aligners can be made. Once we have received your aligners, we will give you a few sets of aligners to wear everyday and then change. Every patient varies, however we advise our patients to change their aligners every one to two weeks. To ensure that the treatment is working well, we will invite you back to our practice every four to six weeks to monitor your progress and provide you with new aligners.

We advise our patients to wear their aligners for at least 22 hours a day. Unlike traditional braces, you are able to remove your aligners when you want to eat, snack and drink. Once you have completed your treatment we will provide you with removable retainers that you will be required to wear mostly at night, in order to help you maintain your smile.
